How often will I receive messages?

Will I be charged for receiving alerts?
The emergency alert service is free. However, standard SMS message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Check with your mobile provider about your messaging plan.
Can I opt out of emergency alerts?
Yes, text STOP to any alert message to opt out. However, critical emergency alerts affecting immediate safety may still be sent during life-threatening situations as permitted by emergency communication authorities.
My phone number changed. How do I update it?
Contact the community office or emergency management team to update your phone number. System users can update their own contact information through their profile page.
I'm not receiving alerts. What should I check?
Troubleshooting Steps:

- Text START to any previous alert message to re-enable alerts
- Check that your phone can receive SMS messages from other sources
